Overview: Long-Term Goals
Sponsor Humanity is a collective of passionate people who are sowing the seeds of connection, generosity, and kindness. Our goals are three-fold, and will be approached in three consecutive projects:
1. Develop/launch the Sponsor Humanity Mobile App: a network of support
2. Create Food Security Empowerment Initiatives and Sponsor Humanity Hubs
3. Co-create a worldwide network of similarly-missioned organizations
These goals embody a holistic and measurable approach to fulfilling the human “Hierarchy of Needs” described in the motivational theory of Abraham Maslow: the basic needs of survival must be met prior to those of love and belonging, and all of these are prerequisites to realizing the highest needs of self-actualization and purpose.
- We will provide opportunities to meet the basic physiological needs of survival and safety for all human beings,
- We will create communities to meet the psychological/emotional needs of love and belonging, encouraging a sense of contribution, accomplishment, and appreciation.
- We will create the conditions for people to meet the highest needs of fulfilling their potential and purpose in life.
The amount of stress that much of humanity is experiencing due to the current state of the world (pandemic, political unrest, and the polarization of beliefs, to name a few) is making it challenging, to say the least, for many people to feel safe. Lockdowns and social distancing are hindering the ability to feel connection and belonging.
Our vision is to meet these basic needs of survival and community, thereby reducing this stress, improving health on every level, and increasing the likelihood of each person meeting their potential and purpose in life.
